ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE?

OUR ASSOCIATION

AKWAABA TECHIMAN is a legal association based in Berlin, Germany. AKWAABA means welcome or hello in Ghana and Techiman is the capital of the rural Bono region, where the association accompanies and supports children and teenagers from low-income families on their journey through life.

OUR HISTORIE

Eight years ago, the founders Annekatrin Jacobs and Kofi Ajima Mahama got involved privately, first for family members, then for the children of the local school and later for young women in building a livelihood. With each successfully implemented project, more supporters joined, so that on October 3, 2022, the AKWAABA TECHIMAN association could be founded.

OUR VISION

Every child can grow into a healthy, strong, and confident adult with attention and education. That is why we want to contribute to helping children and teenagers from low-income families in Techiman to build a better future for themselves.

OUR MISSION

Our projects are small, personal, and transparent. We always focus on one project, working on it with many hands – each as able – until it is successfully implemented.
